
Zinc alloy die casting is a high-pressure precision casting process. Its core involves injecting molten zinc alloy into a high-pressure mold to create a high-precision casting with excellent surface quality in a single process, resulting in production efficiency far exceeding that of ordinary casting methods.
I. Core Working Principle
Melting and Injection Stage: The zinc alloy is heated to 400-450℃ in a furnace until it reaches ideal fluidity, then fed into the injection chamber via an automatic feeding system.
High-Pressure Forming Stage: The punch first slowly injects the molten metal into the runner at 0.3-0.5 m/s. When the molten metal reaches the ingate, the velocity rapidly increases to 2-5 m/s, and finally, a pressure of 100-200 MPa is applied to compact it, eliminating internal shrinkage porosity. The entire process takes only 0.1-0.3 seconds.
Cooling and Demolding Stage: The mold's water channels circulate and cool for 3-15 seconds. After solidification, the casting is ejected evenly by multi-directional ejector pins, and an automatic release agent is sprayed to prepare for the next production run.
II. Basic Process Characteristics
Zinc alloy has a melting point of only about 385℃, excellent fluidity, and can be used to form complex thin-walled parts with a minimum wall thickness of 0.3mm. The dimensional error of the finished product is typically less than 0.02mm, requiring minimal secondary processing. It is widely used in hardware, 3C electronics, automotive parts, and other fields.
